Calibration
Calibration means comparison with a known standard quantity. This quantity is represented by a national standard which, in turn, is traceable to the so-called SI units – the physical quantities of the international system of units. Regular calibration is important for maintaining high measurement accuracy in the long term. This is important, since incorrect measurements could lead to claims for damages in the worst cases. Narda Safety Test Solutions GmbH has three of the most up to date calibration laboratories located in different parts of the world:
These laboratories are equipped to perform calibration over an extremely wide frequency range, from 5 Hz to 60,000,000,000 Hz (60 GHz). The calibration is an integral part of an ISO 9001-certified management system. The test equipment management for the metrological certification system conforms to ISO 10012-1. |

Factory calibrationFactory calibration does not simply mean checking the specifications. A comprehensive function test and minor preventive maintenance are also performed, improving the reliability of the test equipment and preventing failures. At the same time as a calibration, you can also request a firmware update to make sure your instrument has all the latest features. All factory calibrations are performed in our own laboratories.
Scope of factory calibration
If your instrument needs repairing, we will send you an estimate of the cost. The suggested repairs will not be performed until you have agreed to the estimate. We recommend that you should have our instruments and probes factory calibrated every 24 months. Details about this are given in the instrument data sheets.
