Egypt

Project HORUS is a project for systematic measurement of electromagnetic radiation in Egypt. Horus is the name of an ancient Egyptian god whose eye symbolizes protection and the bringing of wisdom. The eye also symbolises our ability to see with clarity and truthfulness.The Project is a Vodafone Egypt initiative aimeing to informing the general public about Radio Frequency (RF) radiation. Through HORUS, the public is able to view a graph of the continuously monitored radio frequency electromagnetic radiation levels in the environment produced by mobile phone base stations. The measured radiation levels are compared with national and international safety limits.

Greece

The pedion24 project was developed by the Mobile Radio Communications Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens and the Radio Communications Laboratory of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Its purpose is to continuously monitor environmental electromagnetic fields at various locations in Greece. The measurements collected by the monitoring units are published on this website.

Ireland

OpenAccess is a new independent radio emissions monitoring service focusing exclusively on exposure levels from mobile phone base station antennas and other transmission equipment. Showing results using World Health Organisation approved guideline limits it make feeds from its monitors freely available on-line.

Portugal

This site, developed by Instituto de Telecomunicações, presents updated information on electromagnetic radiation from mobile communications: basic concepts related to electromagnetic waves, known exposure thresholds, bibliography, and relevant references, besides results from systematic measurement campaigns carried out near mobile communications base station antennas all over Portuguese territory. The site content offers two different levels of information: a simplified one intended for the general public, and a more advanced one addressed to the technical community.

South Africa

Vodacom has taken measurements at various sites around the country and now you can see the information they have gathered.

Spain

The system installed by the Polytechnic University of Valencia allows control and measurement of electrical field strength (at high frequencies produced by mobile phone and radio antennas, etc.) and magnetic field strength (ELF produced by transformers). It comprises remote stations for measuring electric and magnetic field strength, which will change location every two weeks with the purpose of covering all locations on campus.
