The recently developed EHP-TS software allows you to use a Personal Computer to control Narda STS analyzers such as the EHP-200 and EHP-50D.

The optical cable from the analyzer (max. length 40 m) can be easily connected to a PC USB port by means of the standard accessory USB-OC. If longer distance is required, the optional 8053-OC optical to RS232 converter can be used for optical fibre lengths of up to 80 m.

The user-friendly graphical interface includes commands for setting all parameters.

To make things clearer, the controls are grouped in five selectable menus, whereas the spectrum measurement is displayed and updated continuously.

Both electric and magnetic field spectrum measurements can be displayed on the same graph.

The Sweep, Mode, Limit and Aspect menus are used to set all the measurement and display parameters. The Data menu, which includes the Marker functions, shows the numerical results, such as the field strength at the marker frequency as well as at the frequency corresponding to the highest peak displayed.

The wideband field value is calculated with reference to the displayed frequency band.

The ICNIRP limit values are already pre-programmed and user-defined limit values can be programmed easily using the “Make Limit” function.

Various units, including percentage of limit value, can be selected for displaying the measurement results which can be saved with user comments as bitmap or text files for easy import into other software applications such as spreadsheets or word processors.

When used with the EHP-200 analyzer, this powerful software can display power density spectra expressed in W/m² or mW/cm².

It is common practice to calculate the power density using correlated units (magnetic field intensity calculated from measurement of the electric field), which is only valid for the far field.

The power density spectrum displayed by EHP-TS in “Dual” mode is calculated from real measurements of the electric and magnetic fields and is therefore valid for both the far field and the near field.

Occupational safety can now be assessed with minimum effort and high reliability.

The availability of lightweight devices equipped with the Windows™ operating system, such as UMPC, notebooks and similar devices, makes the EHP-TS software the ideal solution for accurate on-site spectrum analysis with minimum effort using portable equipment.
